IN CONVERSATION - LORENZO OSTI AND MORENO FERRARI

As part of the Invisible Men exhibition, designer Moreno Ferrari and Lorenzo Osti will be speaking In Conversation with Professor Jonathan Faiers.

Lorenzo Osti is the president of C.P. Company and the son of legendary menswear designer Massimo Osti who founded both Stone Island and C.P. Company and revolutionised menswear design through his use of his extensive research archive and his continuous experimentation with materials and finishes, leading to the invention of new fabrics and dyeing processes.

Moreno Ferrari became the Creative Director of C.P. Company in 1997 and over the following four years was responsible for pushing the boundaries of menswear creating the ground-breaking Urban Protection Range as well as the Transformables line which pushed garment functionality to its limits.

Jonathan Faiers is Professor of Fashion Thinking at Southampton University. His research looks at the interface between fashion, textiles and popular culture. He has written on subjects ranging from Tartan, Fashion in Film and Alexander McQueen. His latest book Fur: A Sensitive History will be published by Yale in August 2020.

IN CONVERSATION - SAMUEL ROSS, A-COLD-WALL*

As part of the Invisible Men exhibition, award-winning designer Samuel Ross will be speaking In Conversation with Sarah Mower.

Award-winning designer Samuel Ross is the founder and creative director of A-COLD-WALL* alongside his industrial design practice SR-A (Samuel Ross & Associates).  Ross operates across both practices with the intersection between: Object Design, Spatial Design and Garment Design.

His list of awards includes Hublot Design Price 2019, BFC/ GQ Designer Menswear Fund 2019, Emerging Designer at British Fashion Awards 2018 and Forbes 30 under 30. Collaborations include Nike, Diesel, Oakley, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Daniel Arsham.


Sarah Mower MBE is a fashion journalist and critic for US Vogue and an advocate for young designers. She is the British Fashion Council's Ambassador for Emerging Talent and Chair of the NEWGEN committee, the scheme responsible for supporting a generation of designers that show at London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Mens, including A-COLD-WALL*. Sarah is also a trustee of the BFC Education Foundation, raising much-needed scholarships for students to be able to study fashion design.

IN CONVERSATION - AITOR THROUP

21 November 7.00PM - 8.00PM


As part of the Invisible Men exhibition, award-winning artist and designer Aitor Throup will be speaking In Conversation with Ike Rust.
Aitor Throup is an Argentinian / British artist, designer and creative director whose multi-disciplinary design house ‘A.T. Studio’ collaborates across multiple industries and is lauded for developing the directional ‘New Object Research’ clothing line which has received critical acclaim for breaking the boundaries of the standard catwalk format and the seasonal conventions of the fashion system.


Throup is renowned for his figurative and conceptual explorations of human anatomy through deep metaphorical narratives.
As Head of Menswear at the Royal College of Art, Ike Rust taught a generation of designers including Aitor Throup, that revolutionised British menswear, and led to the launch of London Fashion Week Mens in 2012.


Throup has won numerous awards for his creative output and has twice been nominated for Design of the Year at the Design Museum, London in 2010 and 2017.
